David Wright
Executive Chairman
(Bio)

David has over four decades of experience in senior executive roles at a variety of technology companies. He brings extensive operational expertise from his time as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer at several private and publicly traded companies.

David served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Amdahl Corporation (acquired by Fujistsu) and Legato Systems (acquired by EMC), two publicly traded companies. He also held the position of Executive Vice President, Office of the CEO, Strategic Alliances and Global Accounts, at EMC Corporation. David has also served as Chief Executive Officer of Verari Systems and ClearEdge Power. In addition, David spent 11 years with IBM in various management and executive positions.

Before starting his professional career, David spent four years playing in the National Football League (NFL). He graduated from Xavier University with a BS in Physics and a minor in Mathematics. David currently sits on the Board of Verisk Analytics, which he helped take public in 2011 as a founding Board Member. He also served on the Board of Directors at Amdahl Corporation, Legato Systems, EMC Corporation (acquired by Dell), ClearEdge Power, Verari Systems, Gridiron Systems, ActivIdentity, Applied Micro Circuits Corporation (AMCC), Aspect Communications, Boole & Babbage, VA Linux Systems, and Geeknet.

Currently, David lives with his wife in in Atherton, CA, where they are active supporters and benefactors to several philanthropic organizations, including Ronnie Lott – All Stars Helping Kids, Bay Area Women’s Sports Initiative, Marty Lyons’ Second Wish Foundation, Special Operations Warrior Foundation, Charity: Water, and Marcus Allen’s Fresh Start Foundation.

Sean Madnani

Sean is a highly regarded and seasoned financier with 22 years of experience on Wall Street, leading over $110 Billion in corporate M&A transactions across North America, Western Europe, and Asia-Pacific. His focus has always been within the Technology sector.

Prior to founding Twist Capital, Sean was a Senior Managing Director at Guggenheim Partners for five years. He previously spent ten years at Blackstone, most recently as a Partner, Senior Managing Director, and Head of Technology M&A for the Western US and Asia-Pacific.  Sean was formerly an M&A investment banker at Lazard Frères & Co. LLC, and has also held various roles at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette (DLJ), Merrill Lynch, Bear Stearns, and Lehman Brothers. 

Before starting his journey in corporate finance, Sean began his professional career as a software developer for IBM Corp. He graduated from UC Berkeley as a Cal Alumni Scholar and an IBM Thomas J. Watson Scholar. Currently, Sean lives with his wife and son in Los Angeles, where he serves on the Board of Directors for the LA Opera, Hollywood Schoolhouse, and the Campaign Steering Committee for Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego. He is a significant benefactor to several other philanthropic organizations, including the Boch Performing Arts Center in Boston, the Fund for Animals and the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS).

Michael Carter

Michael has six years of experience as an investment banker at various Wall Street firms. Prior to joining Twist Capital, Michael was an Investment Banking Associate in Guggenheim’s Technology, Media and Telecom Group and completed his Investment Banking Analyst Program with Rothschild’s Global Advisory Mergers and Acquisitions Group.

Michael holds a BA from Princeton University.

Charles Lew

Charles has 25 years of experience in senior operational roles at technology-oriented companies where he successfully architected complex turnaround strategies. His experience includes senior roles at HRmony, Veritil and Flaunt.com. Charles remains the Non-Executive Chairman of The Lew Firm, the law practice he founded which represents notable athletes, entertainment personalities and numerous hospitality ventures. He also serves on the board of Loyola Law School, is a founding member of Forbes LA Business Council and is active in community and charitable organizations including board of director positions at AdoptTogether, Mental Health America and is a current Los Angeles City Small Business Commissioner.

Charles earned his undergraduate degree at Florida State University and has a JD from Loyola Law School.

John Stanfield

John has over 15 years of accounting and finance experience and oversees Twist Capital’s financial reporting, budgeting and tax matters. John previously worked at Ernst & Young and runs his own boutique CPA firm specializing in the private equity industry and international taxation.

John has an MS in Taxation and a BA from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and an MS in Accountancy from DePaul University. He is a licensed Certified Public Accountant and member of the AICPA.
